Case Study: Three-Story Commercial Building

3-floor level Reinforced Concrete Moment Resisting Frame luxury commercial building with the top deck having 3.2m cantilevered pergolas. The structure has a maximum bay span of 9 meters and a floor height of 6.5m with an internal reinforced concrete shearwall at the elevator core. The structure was designed to sustain a maximum wind speed of 166 kph and is seismic-resistant according to the maximum recorded local seismic activities which conform to the Saudi Building Code as well as international code.

In January 2020, CAS Engineers had the honor to work on a three-story commercial building in Irqah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Our main role included structural calculations including loading analysis such as wind, seismic, dead, and live loads. We also did the structural analysis and design of all structural components such as foundation, floor slabs, beams, columns, stairs, walls, underground tank, etc. and to provide complete structural plans such as foundation plan, floor framing plan, roof framing plan, structural details, schedule of beams & columns, general structural notes, and material specifications.

MEP Tasks Done:
We had the MEP engineering scope that was done exquisitely according to all client needs. All professional advice was given to the client within the design stage and at the start of the land digging.
The client asked to have the MEP designed as core & shell basis. We have given all the required services (HVAC, Drainage, Firefighting, Electrical and Low Current) all aligned to environmental aspects as well as international and local codes to ensure design efficiency.

Architectural Tasks Done:
The range of services includes the architectural concept, structural design, interior finishing and electrical layout, all in line with environmental graphics to create a vibrant and memorable retail destination.
The fenestration features expansive clerestory glass to create a dynamic environment and admit light.
